Mir Cement Ltd. is one of Bangladesh's established cement manufacturers, a subsidiary of Mir Akhter Hossain Limited and part of the Mir Group of Companies. With more than 23 years in construction materials, it supplies major real estate developers, infrastructure projects, and individual buyers, with clients including BTI, Navana, and Summit Group. Yet its website was not turning that reputation into organic search visibility. When Khan IT took over SEO in July 2024, organic traffic had been flat and declining. Six months later, the site generated 9,170 clicks and 210,000 impressions in a single month. Here is exactly how that happened.
The challenge
Before committing to any strategy, we ran a full technical SEO and content audit of mircement.com. The Semrush data from June 2024 told a difficult story: 1,100 organic visits per month, only 60 organic keywords, an Authority Score of 11, and a 39% year-on-year traffic decline. The site had 265 referring domains and 978 backlinks from its industry history, but it was not converting that link equity into rankings.
Three core problems stood out. First, keyword cannibalization: the homepage, about page, and several product pages were all loosely optimized for terms like "best cement in Bangladesh," but no single page owned them, so Google ranked none of them well. Second, technical issues: crawl inefficiencies, unoptimized image files, duplicated or missing metadata, and inconsistent internal linking meant important pages were not crawled at the frequency they deserved. Third, and most critical, Mir Cement's Google Business Profile had been suspended, wiping out local pack presence for a brand that depends on visibility across Bangladesh.
Our strategy
We do not skip the technical phase to reach content faster. Rankings built on a broken foundation do not hold, so we sequenced the work across the six months.
Month 1: technical foundation first
- Full keyword research and page-level keyword mapping, giving every page one primary keyword and two to three supporting keywords so no two pages competed.
- Fixing crawl issues and metadata gaps across all key pages, part of the technical SEO remediation.
- Compressing and tagging images correctly for image SEO.
- Resolving internal linking gaps so link equity flowed to priority pages, the kind of SEO-friendly website structure that helps Google understand a site.
- Submitting the corrected sitemap and beginning the Google Business Profile recovery, which required a review request and documentation before resubmission.
Months 2 to 4: content and on-page optimization
With the foundation stable, two blog posts went live each month, targeting keyword gaps in the cement and construction niche and answering the questions buyers and specifiers actually search for. On-page work touched every major service and product page: heading structures, rewritten title tags, proper image alt text, and stronger internal links between blog content and commercial pages. Two client-side limitations shaped the work. The client preferred to keep the existing homepage copy, so we focused editorial improvements on inner pages and the blog. Requested video content for key pages was also unavailable, which we noted as an ongoing recommendation. Neither limitation stopped the results.
Months 4 to 6: backlinks and local authority
We built relevant, high-quality backlinks from local Bangladeshi directories, industry publications, and construction-adjacent websites, prioritizing relevance and context over volume. The recovered GBP, now live and verified, was optimized with accurate business information, categories, and regular post activity. Image SEO, started in Month 1, kept generating impressions through Google Image Search, a channel with real commercial value for a product-led brand.
The results
After five months of active work, the December 2024 Google Search Console data confirmed the turnaround.
| Metric | June 2024 (before) | December 2024 (after) |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly organic clicks/traffic | 1,100 | 9,170 |
| Monthly impressions | — | 210,000 |
| Average CTR | — | 4.4% |
| Average position | — | 14.3 |
| Organic keywords | 60 | Growing steadily |
The two stated goals at the start of the project, "best cement in Bangladesh" and "best cement company in Bangladesh," both reached position 1. In fact, GSC and ranking data showed position 1 across a cluster of high-value terms, including "cement in Bangladesh," "top cement in Bangladesh," "cement brand in Bangladesh," and "best cement brand in Bangladesh," with "cement price in Bangladesh" at position 2. Reaching the top of a category as competitive as construction materials required sustained work across technical SEO, content, and authority building, and it paid off within the project timeline. All results came from organic search, with zero paid advertising.
Key takeaways
- Fix cannibalization first. Until every page had a clear, assigned keyword focus, the site was competing against itself. Fixing this alone improved ranking signals for the commercial pages within weeks.
- Recover local authority. Rebuilding the suspended Google Business Profile restored visibility the brand had lost entirely, lifting branded and near-me search performance.
- Treat images as content. Proper file naming, alt text, and compression put Mir Cement in image searches, a traffic channel most competitors ignore. Fast, well-built pages matter too, which is why we care about Core Web Vitals alongside a solid website development base.
- Publish consistently. Two posts a month across five months is ten pieces of content, each bringing its own keywords and linking authority back to the commercial pages. That compounds.
Mir Cement's results did not come from a trick or a shortcut. They came from fixing what was broken and doing the consistent work most agencies skip after month two.
